The project addresses, in their hour of greatest need, the tragic circumstances of just a few of the poorest of the poor children living in South India. It sets out to improve their life by making it possible to be part of a ‘family’, eating regular meals, interacting at play with their friends whilst at the same time being prepared for their future life by being able to attend school – a fundamental right previously denied them.
Children out of Poverty is a small charity in Southern India which aims to identify and help restore to a normal existence very poor children who, because of their circumstances, would otherwise never receive the basic rights of children worldwide: a stable family life, play, counselling and full-time education, as laid down by the “United Nations Declaration on the Rights of the Child”.
Many children throughout the world continue to suffer abuses of their human rights as a result of exploitative child labour, child trafficking, sexual exploitation and poverty. One man is trying to help children in his area of India and we are trying to help him.
